Last year, we waited to find out when (and if) opening day would occur. This year, it doesn’t look like there’s any confusion (knock on wood), which means all the fantasy baseball owners out there will be looking for a 2021 fantasy baseball cheat sheet. Because many fantasy owners “opted out” of last year’s abbreviated season, they might have forgotten their normal March routine, but we’re here to get you back on track. Our cheat sheet is packed with rankings and tiers, auction values, auction advice, snake draft strategy tips, sleepers and breakouts for every position, top prospect lists, a mock draft simulator, spring training player updates, the best fantasy team names, and more. Yeah — now you remember what a real draft kit consists of, huh?
Opening day is set for Thursday, April 1, but we’ll continue to update the links below leading up to first pitch. Check back often for new articles, and make sure to bookmark this page for easy access during your draft.
2021 Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Tiers Cheat Sheet
Top 300: Juan Soto is No. 1, Jorge Alfaro is No. 300, and there are 297 other guys in between. (Yes, 297 — Shohei Ohtani is on there twice.)
Catcher: We really like catcher-eligible players who might not play catcher. In fact, we have two in our top 12.
First Base: Homers are easy to find; average and steals…not so much.
Second Base: If you play on Yahoo, literally every 2B is eligible at another position. Well, not literally “literally”…but close!
Third Base: We were all scared of Manny Machado moving to San Diego, and he still raked. Are we making the same mistake with Nolan Arenado?
Shortstop: Welcome back to the SS rankings, Eugenio Suarez!
Outfield: These were more fun when Eloy Jimenez was in them. They’re still pretty good, though.
Starting Pitcher: We’ll be shocked if the end-of-season SP rankings aren’t exactly the same our preseason rankings. They’re that perfect.
Relief Pitcher: Two guys from the same team in the top 11? Why not? This position barely exists anymore.
2021 Fantasy Baseball Auction Values
Dollar Projections for Every Position: It’s good to study these before your auction so you know exactly how much you overbid for Ke’Bryan Hayes.
2021 Fantasy Baseball Sleepers
30 Teams, 30 Sleepers: You’ll never believe who we picked for the Nationals! (Sorry, shameless trick so you read all the way to the end. Thanks for the page views!)
Catcher: There’s actually some potential stolen bases on this list. Seriously.
First Base: Prediction: One of these guys will have six homers by the end of April.
Second Base: Speedsters, sluggers, a little of both — there’s something for everyone.
Third Base: 3B is stacked so we had to dig deep here. Maybe too deep.
Shortstop: The lesson after reading this: Don’t rely on a shortstop sleeper.
Outfield: This list is mostly younger guys, but we sneak in one injury-prone veteran you probably remember.
Pitcher: What would a pitching sleepers list be without multiple Cleveland hurlers?
