Manchester City vs. Bayern Munich live score, updates, highlights & lineups from preseason friendly

Erling Haaland has already announced that he will be making his much-anticipated Manchester City debut against Bayern Munich at Lambeau Field, home of the NFL’s Green Bay Packers, in a summer preseason friendly.

It’s notable that Haaland, who was acquired from Borussia Dortmund in a $60 million transfer (£51m/€60m), will be announcing himself in front of his new supporters against the team that caused him so much heartache during his days in Germany.

Attempting to keep Haaland at bay in Green Bay will be Bayern Munich’s most recent signing, central defender Matthijs de Ligt, who joined from Juventus in a slightly costlier transfer operation totaling $68.55 million (€67m/£57m).

Bayern and Man City, reigning league champions in Germany and England respectively, will both be returning to their home headquarters after the match as they prepare to battle for the first silverware of the season next Saturday. Bayern will be contending for the German Super Cup, while Man City will face Liverpool for the Community Shield.

Sporting News is following the match live and providing live score updates and commentary.
