One final exhibition match will remain on the schedule, in Spain against Pumas UNAM (Aug. 7), before kicking off the domestic season against Rayo Vallecano on Aug. 13.
The Red Bulls are coming off a semifinal ouster in the U.S. Open Cup against Orlando City in midweek, but they are riding high in league play, sporting the fifth-best record with 12 matches remaining in the Major League Soccer regular season. A playoff berth is well within reach.This is the third all-time meeting between the Red Bulls and Barcelona, with the two previous instances being played at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, N.J. Barcelona won both matches: 4-1 in 2006 and 6-2 in 2008. This will be the first time that Barcelona has played a competitive match at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J.

New Barcelona transfer acquisition Jules Kounde will be presented in Spain this week and is not currently with the club. The other player sure to miss out is Ferran Torres, who is expected to feature next weekend against Pumas. He is recovering from a foot injury.
Ronaldo Araujo and Pedri, who were given the night off against Juventus, are available again and Araujo starts. Frenkie de Jong will finally get to start, getting a chance to showcase his talent in midfield after playing at center-back in the last two friendlies.
