The Hall of Fame quarterback was known for many things: Being one of the most prolific passers of all time, winning Super Bowls with two different franchises and his extensive commercial repertoire.
Manning was also known for the indelible, red marks left on his forehead after games, thanks in large part to the incredibly tight, form-fitting helmets he preferred to wear during his NFL career. As it turns out,During the debut “Manningcast” of the 2022 NFL season, Manning explained why he preferred to wear the glove-like fit for his lid, and there’s actually a logical reason for it.

“I liked it snug. I wanted it tight so I could hear the play calls coming in. I wanted some pressure. I didn’t want it loose — you get hit, those helmets fall off. I wanted it tight. Enough about my forehead,” Manning explained.
Manning has taken plenty of jabs throughout his career for the sheer size of his forehead; “Manningcast” guest Joel McHale wasn’t the first to take shots at Peyton on national TV, as he’s taken barbs from his brother on “Manningcasts” past, including during the debut last season:
