After an 11-0 start to the 2020 NFL season, the Steelers appeared to be a top contender in the AFC. Then Pittsburgh finished 1-4 before being run off the field in the wild-card round by the Browns.
The Steelers are stuck in a tough spot ahead of the 2021 campaign, as they are hoping to make one more run with veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, but a rebuild seems to be on the horizon. What approach will Pittsburgh take as it enters this year’s NFL Draft armed with eight total picks?

Steelers NFL Draft needs
- Running back: The debate will rage on as to whether the Steelers should spend a first-round pick on a running back such as Alabama’s Najee Harris or Clemson’s Travis Etienne. Pittsburgh could certainly use an upgrade in the backfield, but it’s unclear if that is the team’s top priority.
- Offensive line: With Maurkice Pouncey now retired, the Steelers could take a young center early in the draft. They would also be wise to bring in another tackle.
- Linebacker: Because it wouldn’t be a real NFL Draft if the Steelers didn’t select a linebacker at some point.
