Is Davante Adams playing Thursday night? Fantasy injury update for Chargers-Raiders Week 15 TNF

Despite a lackluster season, Davante Adams was penciled into virtually all of his owners’ Week 15 fantasy lineups without much of a thought. That ch anged on Wednesday afternoon when Adams (illness) was listed as “questionable” for Thursday night’s game against the Chargers, creating a start ’em, sit ’em headache at the worst possible time.

We’ll continue to update this article with news on Adams until the official active/inactive report comes out on Thursday around 6:50 p.m. ET, so check back for the latest.

Is Davante Adams playing Thursday night Week 15?

Adams was a surprise “questionable” after failing to practice because of an illness on Wednesday. It’s unclear just how sick he is, but at this point, we’d be surprised if he didn’t play.

Of course, Adams doesn’t have any real reason to play, as the Raiders are all but out of playoff contention and are coming off an embarrassing shutout loss in Week 14. No one would blame Adams for tapping out, but until we hear otherwise, we’ll assume he’ll be out there.

If he is, he remains a must-start against L.A.’s 29th-ranked pass defense. When these teams met in Week 4 in Aidan O’Connell’s first career start, Adams racked up 75 yards on eight catches (13 touches), and he should’ve had a touchdown had the Raiders opted to review a goal-line catch. Even more impressive is that he did all that despite barely playing in the first half because of a shoulder injury.

Adams has mostly disappointed this year, but the opportunities are still there. He’s seen at least seven looks in each of the past seven games, and he’s posted double-digit targets in three of the past four games. He should get going in this favorable matchup, and it dosn’t hurt that Josh Jacobs figures to be out because of a quad injury.

If Adams is a surprise scratch, Jakobi Meyers and Hunter Renfrow would see big bumps in targets. Both would be worth using in 12-team leagues, with Meyers jumping up to a solid WR3.
