Mavericks vs. Clippers Game 6 live score, updates, highlights from 2024 NBA Playoffs

The Mavericks have the Clippers on the brink of elimination.

Dallas came away with a convincing win on the road against LA in Game 5 to take a 3-2 series lead headed back home. Luka Doncic is battling a sore knee and an illness, but you wouldn’t have been able to tell after he went for 35 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds in a decisive 30-point victory.

The Clippers are still expected to be without Kawhi Leonard in Game 6. Without Leonard, they’ll need much more from their star trio of Paul George, James Harden and Russell Westbrook.

Those three combined for the same number of turnovers (8) as made field goals in Game 5, a recipe that will not get the job done when facing elimination.

Will the Clippers’ stars bounce back or will Doncic and Kyrie Irving lead the Mavericks to the next round?

The Sporting News has you covered with live updates, highlights and more from Game 6 below.

First quarter

10:09 p.m.: A little bit of life for the Clippers! James Harden hit a floater and Paul George buried a 3-pointer to cut the Mavericks lead to five, 20-15. There are just under four minutes to play in the quarter.

10:06 p.m.: Luka Doncic set up P.J. Washington for a wide-open 3-pointer, then got an easy two for himself. His playmaking is shining through already with eight points and two assists. The Mavericks lead 20-10 with five minutes left in the frame.

9:59 p.m.:  Dereck Lively corralled an offensive rebound and kicked it out to P.J. Washington for a 3-pointer, forcing a Clippers timeout with the Mavericks leading 13-6. Dallas is killing LA on the offensive glass early on, grabbing six offensive boards to the Clippers’ four total rebounds.

9:50 p.m.: Luka Doncic knocks down a one-legged runner and the Mavericks are on the board to get this one underway.
