The 2024 tournament will feature an eight-team field beginning Wednesday, March 6. Each game will be played at the home of the higher seeded team.
Central Connecticut and Merrimack shared the NEC regular season championship with each team finishing 13-3. It marked the third regular-season title in five years for the Warriors, and the fourth all-time for the Blue Devils.
Merrimack had its 10-game win streak snapped Saturday but went unbeaten February for the second straight year. The second-seeded Warriors won the NEC postseason in their first year in the conference last season and are eligible to compete in the NCAA Tournament for the first time this March.Sacred Heart is third seed and will host an NEC quarterfinal game for the fourth time in the last six seasons. In search of the program’s first conference championship, the Pios will make their ninth NEC playoff appearance in the last 10 years under coach Anthony Latina.

The NEC Men’s Basketball Tournament will consist of an eight-team playoff format with all games played at the home of the higher seed.
After the quarterfinals, the teams will be reseeded so the highest remaining seed plays the lowest remaining seed in the semifinals.
